Building Your Own Backyard Chain Link Dog Kennel

By Scott Jackson

A chain link dog kennel is a cost friendly means of building your dog a home outside of your home. Not all of us are blessed with a fenced-in backyard. The possibility of our dog or puppy wandering into neighborhood traffic or deep dangerous woods, not to mention being attacked by another animal or neighborhood dog, is definitely something we'd like to prevent but fencing in an entire yard can be very expensive. Many dog owners rent rather than own their own house or condo and can't very well build a fence around a property they don't personally own. This is why many people have turned to the option of building their own kennel.

Building a chain link kennel isn't very difficult. The most important part of the process is probably determining the necessary size and dimensions. Take the size of your dog into consideration. A smaller dog wouldn't need a very large space so building a chain link dog kennel for a small dog isn't too much of a chore. Just be sure to ask yourself if your dog is done growing so you don't have to dismantle a perfectly good chain link dog kennel that no longer accommodates the size of your dog. Consider things like whether or not your dog is a jumper when determining how high your chain link fence should be.

You can buy different types of a chain link fence ranging between three and ten feet in height. You need to determine the parameters of your space to decide if you need 50 feet of chain link fencing or 100 feet. Some of the wire fencing will have different designs and spacing. You may find small or large holes in the wire depending on the type of fencing. Standard metal posts, cemented into the ground, are considered ideal for your chain link dog kennel but landscape timbers are also used for a less permanent kennel that may have to be moved from time to time. Some dog owners actually prefer the landscape timber posts because they are sturdier and can be cut down to any size.

Building your own chain link dog kennel is simple with the right planning, materials and craftsmanship. Sure, you have other options like hiring someone or purchasing a pre-built dog kennel but think of the pride that will come from building a chain link kennel that keeps your dog happy, safe and out of your hair

How to Build a Chain Link Dog Kennel

By Andrew Bicknell

For those of us that already own dogs finding a place to keep them can be as easy as a fenced backyard. But what if the backyard doesn’t have a fence or one day your wife and kids come home with a cute puppy but you have no place to keep the new family addition. Fencing in the entire backyard can be cost prohibitive but keeping the little guy in the house all the time is not a good idea either, particularly if he grows up to be a big dog. The answer to the problem may well be to build a chain link dog kennel.

A chain link dog kennel is not difficult to build. Of course before you build your dog kennel you will have to formulate a plan and decide how big the kennel needs to be. The size of the kennel will depend on the size of the dog when he is full grown. A small dog will obviously only need a small space but a bigger dog will need plenty of room to move around, not to mention the size of a shelter or dog house in the kennel. The height of the fence needs to be considered carefully for bigger dogs because some breeds have the ability to easily jump a four foot fence.

After you decide how big to make your chain link dog kennel the next step is figuring out where you will build it and what materials you need to build it with. There are different types of chain link fence out there with different spacing between the wires and different heights that can range from three feet to ten feet. Planning ahead will make certain that you choose the correct materials before you start building your chain link dog kennel because you don’t want to have to tear it down and start over after you find out you didn’t make it big enough for that cute little puppy that’s now over one hundred pounds.

When choosing the posts for your chain link dog kennel you can go with the standard metal posts that most chain link fences are built with or you can choose landscape timbers. Metal posts will have to be cemented into the ground which means the kennel will be permanently located in the position you have chosen. Landscape timbers don’t necessarily have to be concreted which gives you the option of moving the kennel or even taking it with you if you move.

Building your own chain link dog kennel can be done rather quickly and easily if you plan correctly. It is also cheaper then hiring someone else to build it or buying a pre-built one.

Make Your Own Chain Link Dog Kennel

By Scott Byers

You come home from work one day to find your wife sitting on the couch with two little puppies that have big, brown sad eyes and your wife saying "but honey, they looked so lonely." You can't tell her she can't have them, but you don't want them in the house, under your feet constantly and chewing on your poker table. What do you do? You build a chain link dog kennel in the back yard so everyone will be happy.

Building a chain link dog kennel is not very hard. The first thing you want to do is to decide how big you want the kennel to be. Will the dogs be small in size, or will they grow into a small version of a Mac truck? Are they small enough they won't jump over a four foot fence, or will they grow to the size that a four foot fence would be like stepping over a stick?

You next need to decide what you want to build your chain link dog kennel out of. Chain link fencing no longer comes in one size fits all. Do you want small holes in the wire, or will large ones be okay? Do you want 100 feet of chain link fencing or do you want 50 feet? Does it need to be 4 feet high or do you need something taller like 6 feet or 10 feet? Choose your fencing wisely so that you don't find yourself rebuilding your chain link dog kennel six months down the road.

There are several different kinds of posts that you can use for your chain link dog kennel. Most people prefer to use landscape timbers because they are sturdier than some boards and don't necessarily have to be concreted in like the metal poles. If you need posts that are shorter than the standard length of landscape timbers, simply ask the store to cut them down to size, or measure them and cut them down when you get home.

If you have the time to build your own chain link dog kennel, it can be cheaper than hiring someone to do it or buying one already made. Just imagine the rewards you may get when you tell your wife "okay, honey, we can keep them; they do look kind of lonely."

Dog Kennels: Select the Right One for Peace of Mind When You're Out of Town

By : Richard Livitski

For most dog owners, choosing among the many dog kennels that are out there is one of the hardest tasks to do, especially because you are already faced with the prospect of going away from home without your best pal.

No matter where you decide to leave your dog, no one will be able to take care of them like you can, so you want a place that is as comfortable and as close to home as possible for your dog.

Remember that some dog kennels are going to be pricier than others, as some of the more expensive facilities considered “dog boarding spas” will very much cater to your dog’s individual needs. Not everyone can afford these expensive facilities though.

With that in mind, here are some tips to help you find an affordable dog boarding facility that is right for your pooch…

Requires Vaccinations: Remember that your dog will be boarded alongside other pets, so it is best to find a facility that requires dogs to be updated on vaccinations before kenneling. This is to protect your dogs as much as it is to protect the staff. The two most important vaccinations are rabies and bordetella. The bordetella shot protects dogs from receiving “kennel cough,” a common cold that is passed from dogs who are boarded in close proximity.

Meets Your Dog’s Needs: Unfortunately there are some dog boarding kennels that are just overwhelmed with too many dogs and too little staff. This means your dog will probably get the basic necessities like being let out to go to the bathroom on a minimal basis and getting two meals a day. A good facility will make sure your dog receives necessary medications, special foods for their diet, as well as adequate outdoor time.

If you are going out of town and have a new puppy, you may also want to consider finding a place like a puppy kennel that specifically takes care of puppies or at least a facility that has adequate staff to watch over a potty training puppy.

A Clean Facility: One of the most important factors you should look for is a clean facility. This means that the kennels are hosed down on a regular basis to remove any urine or feces. As well, the facility is cleaned with

Wooden Dog Kennel Flooring

By Simon Oldmann

It is a delight having a pet dog. It is fun chasing him around and teaching him tricks. But there is a price to pay. Your backyard is full of holes he has dug up. Plus, he brings the mud inside your home. If you want to have a permanent padding for your kennel, then you can opt for concrete kennel flooring.

This is one of the best decisions you will be making when it comes to caring for your dog. Instant Kennel flooring is quite easy to install. They are also portable and resilient. Plus they have an anti-bacterial feature. Your pets will be clean and happy with the concrete flooring that you provide in their kennel. Your dog will instantly love it.

Concrete kennel flooring is usually made from 100% of synthetic fiber. It is interwoven and customized so that it would look rugged. It also has long durability, making it perfect for outdoor kennels. Choose kennel flooring that will protect your dog from bacteria, germs and too much sunlight. These factors can be very harmful to your beloved pet.

Some kennel flooring is like a sponge. They are able to seep into the surface and soak real deep within the pores. These pores, when damp, are responsible to serve as the breeding ground for bacteria and germs. That is why other dog-owners go for kennel flooring that has dog-resistant characteristics.

The dog-owner also has to choose whether he would go for the concrete kennel flooring or not. The concern of concrete kennel flooring is that it cannot be moved. So wherever you position it the first time, it will stay there for eternity. But there are instant kennel flooring that will allow dog-owners to move it easily and to transfer it from one place to another in span of minutes.

Other advantages of going for instant kennel flooring is that these are:
- easy to install
- protects against bacteria
- self-draining
- weather proof
- dig-resistant
- durable
- affordable

When choosing the flooring for your dog kennels, go for one that has no exposed wire ends. These exposed wire ends can injure your pet and you wouldn’t want that. Choose kennel flooring that has a bracket system that are assembled systematically. Most of the time, kennels used for camping trips and dog shows are the ideal for every dog-owner. It is because these kennels are strong enough to be set outdoors permanently.

The Flexibility Of A Modular Dog Kennel

By : Andrew Bicknell

Flexibility is probably the strong suit of buying a modular dog kennel. With the variety of options available on the market today this type of kennel can be made into whatever shape or size a dog owner desires. They are also designed to be used either inside or outside and since they are modular they can easily be taken apart and set up again in another location and configuration.

There are several reasons you may be interested in obtaining a modular dog kennel. Maybe you want to crate or kennel train a new puppy, or you need the safety and peace of mind having your dog kenneled brings while you are gone during the day, or it's time to replace an old kennel that's worn out and falling apart.

A modular dog kennel is comprised of a series of panels that can be connected together in any number of configurations to form an enclosure. There can also be a gate that can be inserted into the design anywhere between two of the panels. This allows for great flexibility when laying out the design that will work best for the area you have.

Because they are reasonably priced a modular dog kennel is a highly versatile alternative to the more standard type of kennel most people are used to. In fact when it comes to choosing a kennel it is hard to beat the flexibility of the modular option.

The reason for this is simple; unlike buying a complete dog kennel if you buy the modular dog kennel panels and gate then you can customize the dog kennel much more freely and easily, creating the perfect kennel for your dog or dogs. Another reason to purchase this type of kennel is that as your dog grows, or you bring another dog into your family you can easily add more panels to increase its size.

An added bonus of using a modular dog kennel is savings. By purchasing the panels and putting it together yourself you can avoid the high cost of planning and building a custom kennel that cannot be moved or modified easily. You can find any number of modular kennels at online sites at very competitive process. A good modular dog kennel can cost anywhere from under $500 to nearly $2000, depending on the size and the quality. For the average dog owner the cheaper models will work just fine. If you own a large dog or will have multiple dogs sharing the kennel then it may be best to go with a more expensive version for strength and reliability. You will also receive step by step instructions on how to assemble your new kennel when you receive your product.

A modular dog kennel is comprised of a series of panels that can be connected together in any number of configurations to form an enclosure. There can also be a gate that can be inserted into the design anywhere between two of the panels. This allows for great flexibility when laying out the design that will work best for the area you have.

If you are thinking of getting a kennel for your dog then it only makes sense to seriously consider a modular dog kennel. The convenience and ease of use make this type of kennel a great choice for any dog owner.

Learn About Dog Kennel Cough

By Gloria Gangi

Kennel cough is a condition in which a dog's windpipe and upper bronchi are irritated and damaged by infectious microorganisms. Kennel cough can be caused by both bacteria and virus. Dog kennel cough is named variously like canine cough, infectious tracheobronchitis and bordetellosis

Characteristics Of Dog Kennel Cough

One of the first warning signs of kennel cough in dogs is a rough and dry, hacking cough that will show up with in a week of the dog having the initial infection. The damage is done through the bacteria and/ or viruses damaging the lining of the windpipe and bronchi, which exposes the nerve endings. The cough is caused when the dog breathes in and out and air is exposed to the endings of the nerves which irritates them.

Seriousness and Duration Of The Disease

Most cases of dog kennel cough are mild and do not change the dog's overall health or physical condition. The cough though can be irritating to the dog as it is persistent and the dog will cough every few minutes throughout the day. The use of antibiotics can be used to quicken the healing process but in the majority of cases most dogs will recover without it. Kennel cough can last up to three weeks

Transmission of the Disease

Like colds in human's dog kennel cough can be transmitted. Because the germ is carried through the air and can be inhaled by other dogs it can cause infections in other dogs, especially if the other dog is susceptible to the microbes. If the dog is sharing a kennel then the disease can be spread very quickly amongst the other dogs (hence the name kennel cough). But it can be acquired anytime and anywhere from an infected dog.

Treatment and Prevention

The veterinarian will typically prescribe cough-suppressing drugs to reduce the annoying cough. They will occasionally prescribe antibiotics to help manage the recovery from the infection, though most dogs will recover from the cough without medication.
There are some coughs which are similar to kennel cough that can b caused by other serious respiratory diseases, so it is important that the dog be examined by a vet.

You can also prevent kennel cough by having your dog vaccinated against these infectious germs. Dogs that are not in frequent contact with other dogs have a reduced chance of getting kennel cough. If taking your dog to a show or having it bordered ensure that the dog is vaccinated a few week before hand to prevent from catching the disease.

Finding a Safe, Well Managed Dog Kennel

By Richard Cross Terris

Many people have heard the horror stories of leaving a beloved puppy or dog at a kennels while on holiday, only to return to find the dog has changed personality irreversibly. This is a very rare occurrence, but there are things you should do before trusting any kennel with your pet. The vast majority of kennels look after their dogs with great care, although like any industry there are always some exceptions.

Before you make any decisions the first thing you should do is ask around your friends who have dogs who they have used in the past. You know you can trust their recommendations, and if they have used the kennel recently you can be fairly sure the standards wont have changed that much. Ask them how their dog behaved once they got it home, and whether it looked well fed and healthy.

If you can't get any recommendations off friends, the internet should be your next step. Have a search for kennels in your area and see what people are saying about them. Have they had any bad reviews? Are they overpriced? You can often find reviews of kennels on the internet and they can be very revealing.

Once you've found your kennel ask to be shown around where your dog will be kept. See how happy the other dogs look, and what the living conditions are like. If you don't feel comfortable leaving your pet there then you wont be able to relax on holiday, so make sure you choose the right kennel.

Should You Buy a Dog Kennel or Build One Yourself?

By Scott Byers

When a dog owner decides that his pet needs a dog kennel, he is often faced with many options. One choice he must make is whether to buy a commercially available dog kennel, or build his own from scratch.

The first thing to consider when deciding is whether or not you even have the skills required n order to build a dog kennel. Are you a handyman? Do you have experience with carpentry or metal work? If you do, then building a kennel might be quite simple for you. If you have little or no experience in these areas you may want to consider either purchasing a kennel, or even having someone else build it for you.

Another factor to consider is the cost. You will often pay less money if you buy the materials and build the dog kennel yourself, but remember that money won't be the only thing you will spend. A potential cost that any people fail to recognize is time. If you are a busy person with a full schedule, setting aside time to build a dog kennel may not be the wisest decision.

A common reason for choosing to build a dog kennel rather than purchase is that a homemade kennel can be made any size, and in any shape. If you have a small yard or the free space in your yard is not simply square or rectangular, you can build the kennel in a shape that best makes use of the available area.

If you do choose to build your own dog kennel, treat the task seriously and it will provide you and your pet safety and peace of mind for many years to come.

Can a Steel Building Be Used As a Dog Kennel?

By Amy Nutt

If you operate a dog kennel, you are probably wondering if you can utilize a steel building in order to expand the business. The truth is that you can. Many businesses that house dogs are using steel buildings to ensure that the dogs are in a warm and secure place. It is very important that the dogs are as comfortable as possible, which is crucial to the operation of the kennel. It is also important that the quarters stay clean so that the dogs stay healthy.

By providing a healthy environment for the dogs, they will be less distraught that their owner has had to leave them there. Many owners must leave their dogs at kennels while they are on vacation or are traveling on business. As a result, dogs can become upset, but having a nice kennel will keep the dog's stress level to a minimum.

As a kennel

When being used as a kennel, the steel building must be insulated. This is so that the dogs do not become too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. Air conditioning, heat pumps, electricity, phone lines, and even plumbing can be installed. This is one reason why the steel building has become a very important structure to many businesses and even homeowners. They are durable, so they stand up to many different weather phenomenons. Once insulated, temperature control does not become an issue at all.

What's most important is that the dogs are protected and they can be secured. Installing an alarm system is easy to do to ensure that no one will break in and steal or harm the dogs. Also important to dog safety is the cleanliness of the steel building. The ease of cleaning these structures is also a fantastic feature that really makes them sell.

It doesn't matter if the cleaning has to be completed on the inside or the outside. When being used as a dog kennel, dogs may make a mess. Fortunately, there are no wooden floors or other type of flooring that is hard to clean. Concrete floors can be laid out to ensure easy cleaning. Even the walls can be easy to clean. They usually just need to be wiped or hosed down. As far as the exterior goes, a water hose can usually do the job and the steel building will look nice when the process is finished. As a matter of fact, a steel building can look just like new for the life of the building, which is a pretty long life.

Space issues

Fortunately, the affordability of the steel building means that more buildings can be acquired if the space is needed. There are plenty of dog kennels that use multiple buildings on the premises or the kennel owners will combine several buildings together. This means that they will place them side-by-side, and create doorways that go from building-to-building. This is a method similar to what is used at craft fairs and county fairs. Multiple steel buildings are pushed together with doorways going from one to the other. By doing this with a dog kennel, all of the dogs can be attended to even easier.

So now you know how convenient it is to use a steel building as a dog kennel. They are very useful and really take away the need to use any other type of structure. The idea is to keep the dogs safe, comfortable, and clean. It is also a plus that the cleaning is a lot easier on you, allowing you the time to take care of those other duties that really matter.

Keep Your Pet Safe with an Outdoor Dog Kennel

By Andrew Bicknell

If you are a dog owner without a backyard and don’t like the idea of chaining your pet to a tree but also do not like to let him run free then an outdoor dog kennel may be the perfect way to keep you pet safe when you are away. An outdoor dog kennel works well if you don’t mind having your dog in the house with you when you are home but not when you are at work or out doing other things. If you are concerned that your pet may run away or get hit by a car then a kennel will give you the peace of mind that your four legged friend is safe.

Your can get an outdoor kennel in almost any configuration that best suits the needs of you and your dog. When it becomes to decide which type of kennel will work best here are a few things to think about. If you are renting or leasing your home it may be best to go with a kennel that can be easily dismantled and relocated if and when you move. If you own your home something more permanent that can be integrated into your yard will probably work best.

A permanent outdoor dog kennel has the advantage of being bigger as well, giving your dog more room to move around when you are not home. A smaller portable dog kennel will obviously not have as much room and it can be something of a hassle to put up and take down at times.

If you are leaning more towards a permanent outdoor dog kennel then you will have to decide if you want to build it or have someone else do the dirty work for you. If you decide to build your own dog kennel then spend some time researching plans and materials. You can find all sorts of plans and ideas just by searching on the internet. Be sure to measure the area in your yard where you want to place the kennel before you decide on a plan to make sure it will fit. Once you find a plan or design your own to the size and specs you want it is time to get the material and set up you dogs new kennel.

An outdoor dog kennel is a great way to keep your pet safe when you are not home. It may take a little time for your dog to get used to being confined in his new kennel but before long it will be like his second home and you will like the peace-of-mind you have knowing he will be safely awaiting your return whenever you go to work or out to run errands.

An Outdoor Dog Kennel Can Keep Your Dogs Safe and Secure

By Bill Urell

Taking care of a dog is hard, taxing work. You have to regularly bathe the dog, keep it up to date on all of its health requirements, make sure it has plenty of food and water at all times. You also must give your dog an appropriate place to run around and get its exercise. The best solution is a daily walk with your dog, but having a safe area for him to run in ensures his needs are met if your time is short. While all of this can be difficult enough if you have enough room on your property, it can be even more problematic if your land is far too small to accommodate your dog.

Furthermore, just because you have enough land does not mean you will be able keep your dogs outdoor all of the time, as wild animals could end up invading your dog’s space during the night. If you want to make your life easier as a dog owner, then purchasing and building an outdoor dog kennel is a must. The outdoor dog kennel is an excellent addition to your home if you find that there is not much space in your yard, if you live in an area populated by wild animals like wolves and raccoons or if you own multiple dogs and need a place for them all to reside.

The outdoor dog kennel is primarily constructed of concrete and fencing. This simple design allows you to keep your dogs of any size tucked neatly into the structure to prevent them from running of or being attacked while you are not watching them. Furthermore, if you own more than a few dogs, in various neighborhoods, there may be local ordinances requiring you build an outdoor dog kennel to house them.

For the most part, an outdoor dog kennel is not an expensive structure, but it should provide your dogs with enough space, safety and security to keep your dogs happy, healthy and safe. If you care about your animals’ well being, then an outdoor dog kennel is definitely a good investment.

Is an Outdoor Dog Kennel Right for You?

By Scott Byers

Are you a pet owner who feels that your dog shouldn't be cooped up in the house all day while you're at work or out for the evening? If so, I'm sure you're also worried for your pet's safety and well being. You don't want him running away, or causing trouble around your neighborhood. So what do you do? If you're stuck with this problem, an outdoor dog kennel may just be perfect for you.

While are many factors to consider when looking to purchase an outdoor dog kennel, there is sure to be one that is perfect for your pet. Kennels are available in all shapes and sizes, and can be portable or permanent. There are advantages and disadvantages of each, of course.
Portable dog kennels can be disassembled, and taken with you if you move. This is a good feature if you do not own your home, but rather lease it. The portable variety of dog kennel is, sadly, often smaller than a permanent one. Your pet will have less space to run around, so make sure to take that into consideration.

Permanent outdoor dog kennels are often bigger and sturdier, and may be the better choice if you own your home and plan to stay there a while. You can also opt to build an outdoor kennel if you wish to.

When building your own kennel, you should first decide how big you want it to be. Once that is decided, the kennel itself can be as simple as some pieces of timber with fencing around them. If you are not experienced with carpentry and/or landscaping, it may be best to have someone else build the kennel for you.

Whether you decide to go with a portable or permanent outdoor dog kennel, it should prove to be a good investment for both you and your dog for many years to come. You may be uncomfortable with he price at first, but you can't put a price on the safety of your pet

Choosing Dog Kennels and Dog Crates

By Kelly Marshall

A kennel or crate is basically referred to as any place in which a dog is kept. For decades, dog owners from all backgrounds have used dog kennels and crates to breed, maintain, and train their dogs. They are actually very efficient tools in doing such things. Every dog owner needs to own a dog crate and kennel. If they do not, then they will soon find out that it is the best thing for the owner and the dog.

Choosing a dog kennel or crate can be somewhat of a task, especially if you do not know where to start. Here, we will discuss the various factors to consider upon making your selection.

One of the very basic essentials is to know how big your dog is, and how big your dog is going to get if he is a puppy. Depending on the purpose, a dog crate can be either very big or very small. If you are going to be using your dog crate mainly for potty training purposes, then make sure to get one that is just big enough for your dog to stand up, turn around, and lie down in. Dogs will usually not "go" where they have to sleep; especially if there will be no other space left for lying down.

If your dog is a puppy, then you might want to get a smaller dog crate, just for now. Once he begins to grow, you can purchase another one for when he gets a little older. Always keep a smaller dog crate just in case that you make the decision to adopt more puppies in the future. You can find dog crates at any store that sells pet supplies like dog collars and dog clothes. Make sure that the one you get is sturdy enough and also has a good lock on it.

Choosing a kennel for your dog also depends on several different factors as well. You will need to ask yourself how big your dog is now, and how big your dog is going to get. Think about where you will be placing the kennel. Is your yard large or fairly small? You will want to make sure that the size of your dog kennel is compatible with the size of your yard. If your yard is fairly small, then you do not want the kennel to take up most of the yard by any means. How much room do you want your dog to have to walk around inside of the kennel? Will you be keeping more than one dog inside of your kennel?

You can find dog kennels at pet stores, and you can also order them online. If you find that you are having trouble making a decision, try getting a second opinion. Perhaps you have friends or other family members who own dog kennels and crates. They might be more knowledgeable about the problems you could face, and might possibly know more about choosing one since they are already owners of kennels and crates. Think about the cleaning supplies you will need to invest in when purchasing your crate and kennel. Keeping these items clean is an absolute must.

Dog Kennel Fencing - Keeping Pesky Pets Out of Trouble

By Scott Byers

Have you ever come home from work only to discover that your dog has scattered garbage all over the yard, or ravaged your newly planted garden? If his ever happens to you, you may want to think about putting up a dog kennel fence.

Dog kennel fencing can be used for anything from building a full blown pen or kennel, to simply blocking out a particular area of the yard in order to keep the dog out. There's no use confining your pet to a small area if it's not necessary. If he only seems to enjoy digging up your favorite rose bushes but is fine everywhere else, then consider only preventing him from entering this area of the yard.

Most hardware stores and pet stores will carry some form of dog kennel fence that will suit your needs. You can also look online and you will find many stores offering kennel fencing at very affordable prices. When shopping online it is much easier to search for the best prices than it would be to travel from store to store, so this may be a good option if price is a concern to you.

Fencing materials vary from standard chain link aluminum, to impact resistant plastic designs similar to deer fencing. When choosing the proper material, take into consideration the strength and intelligence of your dog. Will he be able to chew through cheaper materials, or will he figure out how to climb the fence and escape?

A dog kennel fence can go a long way in keeping your dog safe, and giving you peace of mind in knowing that your pet won't be causing trouble around the neighborhood while you're gone for the day.

3 Ways to Use Dog Kennel Fence Wisely

By Jason Mann

Dogs are excellent at escaping. Some breeds are better at it than others but on the whole when a dog wants out they usually achieve their objective. Keep your dog at home while at the time providing a safe barrier to keep them in is easier than you might think. One method is to use dog kennel fence to keep your fiesty fido safely at home. Let's take a look at three ways you can use dog kennel fence to achieve your objective.

1. Build a pen.
If you have a small to medium dog you can use dog kennel fence to build a play pen of sorts for your dog.Building an exercise or play pen is cost effective and fairly simple.

Determine how big of an area you want to use and then consider your dogs size and abilities before investing. This way you save yourself from having to modify or go back and fix the pen when your dog gets out.

Give them enough room to exercise in but make the pen high enough and strong enough so they can't push over the walls or jump out.

2. Build a full blown outdoor kennel.
With some wood and dog kennel fence you might want to choose to build a full blown outdoor dog kennel for your pal.
Once again you need to determine the space, your dogs size and abilities, and your budget before getting started.
Outdoor dog kennels give your dog plenty of room to move around in and you peace of mind knowing they aren't going to running the streets or worse, end up dead, because they scaped from the yard.

3. Keeping your dog out of specific areas.
Some folks have gardens they love while others love that maple tree and still others love their porch area.

Dog kennel fence can be used to keep your dog out of these areas as well as keeping your dog in the yard.

You can wrap it around the porch or that maple tree that you admire to keep your dog from soiling the area around them or tearing up things that you put on your porch.
